WSU SHIFTSPACE GALLERY
& WICHITA FESTIVALS

First Friday NOV 6

This pop-up exhibition is a collaboration of WSU SHIFTSPACE & Wichita Festivals featuring guest artist, Kylie Brown.

GET LIT. A NIGHT OF LIGHT.

Local artists and students are asked to create illuminated works that reimagine our own spaces by changing the way we experience our urban surroundings. Viewers are able to see this extraordinary art with a drive-by experience on St. Francis and 2nd Street. We aim to inspire and transform people’s lives by changing the way they see the world through their own artful experience.

We invite our local community to participate in a pandemic safe art experience for your family.

There are always plenty of opportunities for our Wichita creatives to get involved. Take part in building your own “MULTIBUBBLE” with our Bubble Kit. You can also help out by donating materials, sharing the hashtag #MULTIBUBBLE, or volunteering to be part of the fun!

MULTIBUBBLE is an immersive art experience

that features a range of collaborations designed to allow the viewer to peek into various creative universes.

IF YOU’RE RUNNING OUT OF THINGS TO DO IN ISOLATION, LEARN HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BUBBLE AT HOME!

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in many families continuing their education from home. So, let’s make something together and learn how to build a bubble for you and your family to explore your creative sides!

  • What is MULTIBUBBLE? (a Zoom Conversation)
  • Bubble Instruction Kit + Media References
  • Live DIY Q&A on October 17, 2020
  • Exhibit your bubble on First Friday, Nov 06

The conceptual theme is based on humanity’s view of “living in a bubble” that can be isolating, confining, or naive. Though temporary, bubbles are mesmerizing, can hold process and inspiration, shimmer, and burst in beautifully creative ways. Although each artist or family works independently- the entire exhibition acts to stimulate the creative subconscious, spark interactivity, and engage the viewer to see the beauty in our quarantined life.
